“Lee was fantastic in helping arrange trips to Rio Lagartos and making traditional hot chocolate (a completely amazing experience for our daughters)! We also visited the Ek Balam ruins and Cenote.”
rio lagartos & BIRD WATCHING
Birders and nature lovers often take the hour and a half trip to the Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve where estuaries, mangroves and tropical forests have been set aside to protect endangered species like jaguar, ocelot and sea turtle.
Flamingos, river crocodiles and wetland birds are commonly seen on the 2 hour boat tour. Side trips to a beach, saltwater flotation canal, mud bath or “pink” lakes on request. Fresh seafood restaurants abound!
RANCHO REGENESIS Conservation area (the farm)
Genesis has acquired 250 acres for rehabilitation and wildlife habitat. We cultivate a small area for organic produce for Genesis. Let us know if you would like to explore the conservation area and farm. Visitors are welcome to join us on harvests of wild or farmed foods.
Walks and cycle trips
Ask for our self guiding walking or cycle maps and see an abandoned village, unexcavated ruins, sprawling ranches and untouristed cenotes.
Cenotes and Caverns
To experience the character of the land, cycle or walk from paved secondary roads to well-worn trails past unexcavated ruins, corn fields, untouristed cenotes and ceremonial sites. Trail maps and/or local guide available.
When reserving a room let us know which activities you are most interested in so that we may assist in coordination.
