Home

A paradisal little eco lodge for independent travelers who love nature, Maya cultures and archaeology.

“Simply magical! For a city girl, waking up at Genesis, listening to the sounds of rustling leaves, the chatter of different birds and the village life was the most memorable.”

AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES

Welcome to the heart of the Maya world! Explore traditional life, culture, archaeology, nature, ancient civilizations and architecture.

Archaeological Sites

Travelers choose Genesis for its proximity to world-class archaeological sites including Ek Balam, once the seat of power for the Maya civilization in north Yucatan. We’re also close to Chichen Itza, Coba, Kuluba and minutes from cavesand unexcavated sites used by ancient Maya.

Caverns & Cenotes

Cenotes dot the Yucatan where rainwater has etched deeply into limestone rock. Swim in these precious, turquoise pools just minutes from Genesis.

Local culture

The Yucateca Maya are incredibly hospitable. We connect our guests with our Maya neighbors to participate in daily life through a number of respectful, non invasive “classes”.

“Genesis offers B&B intimacy in a quiet, eco-friendly setting. The place is postcard-beautiful. There’s a chilling swimming pool and delicious veggie meals.”

ACCOMMODATIONS

Genesis has a collection of creatively designed rooms, all of which are built to minimize environmental impact.

Bright and Breezy

We loved it! The grounds and pool are beautiful and the cabins too. You’re close enough to Ek Balam that you can get there easily in the morning before other tourists arrive. And we spent two wonderful hours with Lee’s neighbor Guadalupe, who taught us how to make tortillas and our own hot chocolate.
